Invitation paper: space, writing and sleeves
Compare MONO, PALETTE and HALO directions through a full-size invitation, using the intended type, writing tool and sleeve.

The image is an invitation application concept, not a photograph of a specific grade, measured print result or customer project.
Unprinted space exposes the colour and surface of an invitation’s paper. Consider the information to be read, areas for handwriting and how the piece sits inside its sleeve together. A near-final-size artwork makes those decisions easier to judge. Identify what will be printed, what needs to be written by hand and where the paper itself remains visible.
Compare the paper surfaces
MONO offers white and black uncoated directions. PALETTE expresses colour through uncoated surfaces, while HALO provides a white pearlescent direction. Compare them against the artwork and intended use: review paper white and fine type on white stock, print coverage and contrast on dark stock, and the changing lustre of a physical pearlescent sample. A series name cannot replace process verification for the individual grade.
Proof type, foil and handwriting
Proof on the proposed stock using the actual type size. Check text, fine lines, images and unprinted areas on both sides. For foil, trial the final lines and foil combination. For handwriting, use the intended tool and assess drying, adhesion and the appearance after rubbing. A pen that works on another paper does not approve a new surface.
Test the card and sleeve together
Make the card and sleeve as one prototype. Check insertion and removal, edge damage and whether folds affect the artwork. Include any accompanying insert or decoration. If the invitation will be posted, confirm the applicable dimensions, weight and packaging requirements with the carrier. A visual paper approval does not replace a use check of the complete set.
Keep the approved set
Retain the approved card, sleeve, stock identification, artwork and process versions. When requesting samples, provide the invitation size, flat or folded format, writing requirements and printing and finishing plan. Method reference: Gmund Colors Matt Printing Tips. It supports the general practice of proofing on the actual stock and following equipment and consumable guidance; its grade specifications and compatibility results do not apply to QiLi papers.
