Start with the contents and the opening
Cash, vouchers and greeting cards lead to different internal dimensions and thickness requirements. Agree on the contents before deciding the flap, opening, folds and glue areas. The converter should establish grain direction, creasing and bonding conditions for the chosen grade.
Include foil, embossing or pearl effects in the converted trial. An attractive treated surface does not establish compatibility with the selected adhesive. Confirm the bonding areas and method as part of the production specification.

China Red can lead without filling every detail
Try China Red 21 as the dominant area and Champagne 11 on an inner card or sleeve. Merlot 22 with Warm Porcelain 03 offers a quieter direction. Radiant Orange 13 with Deep Navy 32 can be explored for a broader gifting programme.
These are palette proposals. Champagne is not automatically foil, and colour 03 Warm Porcelain is distinct from the HALO grade of the same name. Choose optical effects and finishing through their own physical samples.

Use the envelope before approving production
Insert the intended item or an agreed representative piece, then open and remove it as it will be used. Review folds, seams and artwork afterwards. Agree the procedure and acceptance conditions with the converter in advance.
Coloured paper, CHROMA coloured pearl or a tactile direction may enter the shortlist, but each needs to work in the chosen construction. Confirm quantity, process and format before comparing quotations. The finished-use brief is more helpful than the phrase “premium red envelope”.

For red-envelope paper, send the contents’ size, opening construction and planned finishing. Approve use as well as colour.
