Does foil decoration affect recycling? Specify the full construction
Separate visual effect, decoration process and material construction, then assess recovery against the complete finished item.

The decorated card is an application concept, not an actual foil-stamping trial, paper specimen or recycling test.
A metallic appearance does not identify a package construction. Pearlescent paper, transfer decoration and lamination can create different visual effects and material combinations. Specify the paper, decoration process and finished composition before discussing recovery, rather than deciding from the presence or absence of a metallic detail.
Separate appearance from construction
HALO and CHROMA organise pearlescent directions; ALLOY is a metallic-effect direction. These family names guide material selection. A film layer, exact composition and available converting processes need to be confirmed for the specific grade. A photograph helps describe appearance, not the construction.
Record the decoration process
Record the decoration area and coverage, consumable identification, paper and other surface treatments. Request information for the actual consumable and intended process. KURZ’s transfer-decoration information distinguishes the temporary carrier from the decorative layer remaining on the product. This illustrates why the process should be identified precisely rather than inferred from the word foil.
Assess the complete finished item
Provide the final sample with its paper, decoration, ink, adhesive and accessory specifications. The assessment team can determine the evidence needed for the target market and applicable method. Findings for a supplier’s particular product and conditions cannot simply be transferred to different consumables or a new QiLi paper combination.
Does a pearlescent appearance necessarily mean a metallic film? Use the specific grade’s construction information. Keep the appearance approval, consumable documents and finished-item assessment as separate project records. Further reading: KURZ’s transfer-decoration and recycling information. This helps explain process differences; it is not a test certificate for QiLi products.
