Is a lower grammage always the more sustainable choice?
Assess a grammage reduction against the finished pack’s job. Identify whether the paper provides facing, structure or protection, then compare prototypes for construction, printing, folding and the intended transport conditions. A sheet-weight comparison is incomplete if the change requires extra reinforcement, increases waste or leaves the product inadequately protected. Keep material quantities, processes, trial results and observed defects together for each option. VANGLAM selection should be tied to an actual grade. Neither a family name nor a grammage figure establishes environmental superiority. Any quantified comparison needs consistent assessment boundaries and evidence covering the relevant alternatives.
