Does the grammage of a box wrap tell me its load capacity?

No. Grammage is the mass of paper per square metre; it is neither thickness nor a load rating for a finished box. Performance also depends on the structural board, box design, dimensions, adhesive, insert and loading conditions. When considering HALO, SOFTSKIN or GRAINFORM as a wrap, review the surface and finishing first, then ask the converter to prototype the actual structure with its contents. Check opening, corners and bonding. Confirm load requirements through tests on the complete package, not the wrap grammage alone.
