Does a swatchbook approval release a production order?
A swatchbook helps compare material directions. A production order also needs the specific grade, colour, format, grammage, quantity and project processes. Confirm supply information, then carry out the necessary print and construction checks using the proposed paper and actual artwork. For pearlescent, tactile or textured stocks, include finishing steps that affect the appearance in the approved sample. The order or project record should identify the current grade and sample version, separating confirmed items from those awaiting validation. A colour shown in a swatchbook does not establish stock availability across every grammage, surface and format. VANGLAM Color System 40 is not a promise of every combination being available from stock.
