FAQ

Material origin and recycling

Can paper colour reveal post-consumer recycled content?

No. Post-consumer content concerns the history and source of the recovered material; colour describes a visual result. They are not interchangeable measures. When selecting RECAST, check whether the documentation distinguishes pre-consumer and post-consumer sources, what any percentage refers to, and which grade is covered. Grey, brown or speckled paper cannot replace those records. For a branded pack, confirm colour and the printed artwork on physical samples, then derive source statements from the corresponding verified documentation. Keep the grade identifier in the project record so the statement can be traced. Do not estimate a proportion from a photograph or apply another brand’s recycled-content figures to a QiLi stock.
