Paper selection and printing

Can material development start from a reference image?

A reference image can start the brief, but it cannot establish physical colour, handfeel, caliper or performance. For a LAB project, explain the application, the visual features to retain, and the printing and finishing plan alongside the image. Compare a physical reference when one is available. CUSTOM development can address colour, surface, texture and specification; the feasible scope needs to be established through samples. Record the material version and requested changes at each review, progressively confirming colour, surface and processing results. Highlights in a photograph do not measure pearlescent intensity, and an on-screen colour should not serve as the production acceptance standard.
